Sophie Brown is a researcher and illustrator,
currently holding the position of postdoctoral researcher
at the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment
at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry
(SUNY ESF).

Her academic work centers on addressing the multi-symptomatic illness that is colonialism: through language restoration work, archival research, decolonial studies of place, place-name scholarship, land justice work, and development of frameworks for allyship – altogether, as a way to critically re-frame and disassemble settler narratives within landscape.
